Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of paas.build. Last updated: July 6, 2026.

1. Who we are

paas.build is the developer-facing product of UNIPaaS Financial Services Ltd ("UniPaaS", "we", "us"), a company registered in England & Wales and authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority as a Payment Institution (FCA reference no. 929994). paas.build lets software builders open a merchant account and accept payments on UniPaaS’s regulated infrastructure.

2. The regulated payment services

The underlying payment services — merchant onboarding (KYB/KYC), processing, settlement and payouts — are provided by UniPaaS under its standard merchant terms. By taking your business live through paas.build you also agree to those terms, which govern the regulated activity. Where these terms and the UniPaaS merchant terms conflict on a regulated matter, the UniPaaS merchant terms prevail.

3. Eligibility & onboarding

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. We onboard merchants using progressive KYB: you may go live with a real but capped account while identity and business verification complete in the background. We may request further information, and may apply limits, hold funds, or decline or suspend an account where required for compliance or risk reasons.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the business and personal details you provide, and for keeping them current.

4. Fees

Our standard fee is 3.9% per transaction, unless a different rate is agreed in writing. Fees are deducted from settled funds. Network, scheme and cross-border fees may apply where relevant and will be disclosed. We will give reasonable notice of any change to fees.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use the service for any unlawful purpose, for any business category prohibited by our or the card schemes’ rules, to facilitate fraud, or in a way that breaches applicable law (including AML, sanctions and consumer-protection law). We publish and may update a list of restricted activities; using the service for them may result in suspension and fund holds as permitted by the UniPaaS merchant terms.

6. Your customers

You are the merchant of record for your sales: your name appears to your customers, and you are responsible for the goods or services sold, for customer support, refunds, and for the lawfulness of what you sell. We are not a party to the contract between you and your customers.

7. API keys & security

You are responsible for safeguarding your access tokens and API keys and for all activity under them. Do not embed production keys in public code or client-side bundles. Notify us promptly of any suspected compromise.

8. Availability

We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue or data, and our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. Regulated payment services carry the protections required by law and set out in the UniPaaS merchant terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where required for compliance or risk reasons, or for material breach of these terms. Settlement of funds on termination follows the UniPaaS merchant terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have locally.
